Balijem Balinese Cats and Kittens
Lucy Locket has five babies available for new homes. Photos will follow soon. All kittens will be fully vaccinated and have 6 weeks free insurance. Please look at my website www.manship-fine-art.co.uk for details to contact me. I am situated close to Melton Mowbray in Leicestershire. The kittens will be available for their new, loving homes only, just after the middle of July 2009.
The sister and father of these kittens were featured in 'Your Cat' magazine published July 2009.
Kittens are sold for pets only. Not for breeding. They are fully pedigree registered with GCCF and have pedigree documents showing their parents right through to their great, great grandparents.
What are Balinese cats?
Balinese cats look like Siamese cats with large ears and long nose giving the look of a triangular head. They have beautiful blue oriental shaped blue eyes. You will soon discover that you are owned by a Balinese cat who will have you wrapped around their little paw. Their coats are long and silky unlike their Siamese cousin. The tail when held aloft will display a magnificent plume. these cats have a long, graceful tubular body, with long limbs. Their body colour is paler than their points (the face, ears, tail and legs). Colours range from cream, apricot, red to lilac, chocolate and seal very much as in Siamese cats. Females may have tortie points. Both females and males can either have solid colour points or tabby points.
Balinese cats are basically Siamese cats with the long haired recessive gene. Because there is such a small gene pool of Balinese cats in UK it has been necessary to breed Balinese cats with Siamese. This will produce Balinese variant kittens (short haired Siamese type kittens). A Balinese variant cat then mated to a Balinese cat should produce some (approximately 50%) pure long haired Balinese kittens. A long haired Balinese mated to another long haired Balinese will produce long haired Balinese kittens only because of their recessive genes.
